FLYN-YACHTING is a company created in the summer of 2020 after receiving numerous requests for assistance from yachting professionals caught up in disputes concerning the yachts they manage, all relating to the navigation of these yachts: tax status, sailing duration or distances. We devoted development time to fine-tune the algorithms, servers and databases for yacht location. This phase enabled us to validate the processing chain — from the acquisition of position data (yacht name and MMSI designator) to navigation data (route, stopover, zone crossing), location data (territorial sea, country, region, department and applicable tax status) and, finally, the zone of activity (port, shipyard, anchorage) and the maritime regulations governing access to this zone (anchorage bans).
We use accurate location technologies combined with leading-edge algorithms. We attach crucial importance to the reliability of our products, in particular the accuracy of the geomatic calculations performed (for example the place and date/time of entry into given territorial waters). If an inaccuracy is found in the yacht’s location, it is reported and, depending on the duration of the uncertainty, an opinion is issued by FLYN-YACHTING on the overall validity of the certificate delivered.
Our teams have an optimal knowledge of the applicable tax, legal, social, maritime and environmental regulations and maintain permanent monitoring in order to apply them accurately.
The systematic intervention of expert drafters ensures a document delivered and verified in due form: probative (with value as evidence in a dispute) and whose model complies with the requirements of the administration concerned, to guarantee your legal and tax security over the long term.
All certificates issued by FLYN-YACHTING (or “products”) are drawn up, checked and countersigned by a navigation expert. When AIS observation of the yacht’s movements alone is not enough, FLYN-YACHTING makes — via the service contract — the correct preparation of the product conditional on the declarations of the shipowner or captain (type of contract, commercial or non-commercial nature of calls, passenger movements, additional navigation outside AIS range, etc.). It is up to the professional who ordered the product to ensure the adequacy of the yacht’s situation — its tax situation, its ability to carry out commercial navigation, or the benefit of the 70% high-seas declaration — or to have it confirmed by the shipowner’s tax or customs expert. Except for some “real-time” alert services, no FLYN-YACHTING product is automatic: there is always an expert behind it.
FLYN-YACHTING’s suite of services and products does not replace your stakeholders, agents or tax representatives: it lightens their repetitive tasks and makes their document reference system relating to the navigation and berthing of the yacht more reliable.

Thierry Voisin was immersed in the yachting industry from an early age. His career began in a family business, the Voisin shipyard in Villefranche-sur-Mer, a stone’s throw from Nice. After acquiring solid experience and skills in yacht maintenance, renovation, repair and construction, he set up several companies, all with a yachting-related activity, including FLYN-YACHTING. He is in charge of the company’s management, sales and marketing departments.

After 15 years at sea as a naval officer and long experience in engineering, Laurent Monsaingeon managed the ports of the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur — Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Cannes and Golfe-Juan — from 1996 to 2013. In 2015 he joined ECPY, the European Committee for Professional Yachting, as a Board Member and led the team that created the ECPY Transport Agreement two years later. In 2019 he created FLYN-YACHTING with Thierry Voisin, developing — together with his son Augustin — the algorithms, databases and products (tax analysis, tables and charts, reports…). With his navigation experience and tax expertise applied to charter and transport contracts, he guarantees the conformity of the reports and certificates issued by FLYN-YACHTING with the requirements of the tax and customs authorities.

Lisa Schulmann holds a Master’s degree in Management and International Business. Interested in the luxury industry, she first worked in export consulting and business development in the agri-food sector, then in wines and spirits in Sweden. Drawing on these experiences, Lisa will be your main point of contact and will drive the international business development of FLYN-YACHTING.
